§ 18-58. Hearings and deliberations.

  • The board shall fix a reasonable time for the hearing of an appeal and give due notice to interested parties and decide the same within a reasonable time. Within the limits of its jurisdiction, the board shall hear all appeals relative to the enforcement of this chapter, and by a concurring vote of the majority of its members shall reverse or affirm, wholly or partly, or modify the decision appealed from, and shall make such order or determination as in its opinion ought to be made. Failure to secure such concurring votes shall be deemed a confirmation of the decision of the code official. In all proceedings the board shall comply with the Open Meetings Act, Act No. 267 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1976 (MCL 15.261 et seq.).
